The Mountains Are Calling ...
... I told them they had the wrong number and hung up the phone.
All the gear was packed last night, I got a good night's sleep, woke up without an alarm, finished loading the truck and headed out to El Paso for the Franklin 200 (k, in my case, having dropped from the 200 miler last week).
Shortly after I left Dallas I turned the truck around and headed home. My heart just isn't in it, and while I know I can usually talk my battered body through issues, and can push through heart/head issues if they occur mid-race, I also know that if I start something major, when my heart isn't there, it's usually the last time I try something like that - and start looking for a new fun sport.
Since I am still enjoying running, I'm not ready to start ultra-tiddlywinks yet, therefore I decided that FM200 isn't happening for me.
